An international research network studying the integration of generative AI in the cultural industries.
We investigate how generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) technologies are integrated in the cultural industries around the globe. We develop cultural industries in Brazil, Chile, India, Japan, and Nigeria as reference points through which we examine and conceptualize how GenAI is adopted, negotiated, and governed by cultural producers and other cultural industry stakeholders.
Fieldwork spanning Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
Because of the generous support of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), our project will start a new phase. Over the next years, we will be holding local research workshops with academic and industry partners located across Canada, Brazil, the Netherlands, Japan, and India.
